Description
Casavant School is a 1930s building that belonged to the Casavant Brothers of Saint-Hyacinthe. A portion of the building, including an amphitheater, a simple gymnasium and a triple gymnasium, was purchased by the SHSB a few years ago. Despite the fact that standards compliance projects have already been carried out following this acquisition, the SHSB aimed at 3 major objectives for the realization of this new project, namely the improvement of air quality, thermal comfort and the reduction of GHGs.
Our team has made a custom design for this unique building by its structure and architecture. A heat pump system totaling 120 tons, coupled with 24 geothermal wells, is planned to supply heat to the existing cast iron radiator network and to cool the amphitheater in phase 1 of the project. This system will supply 5 cooling systems with cooling water and a new regenerative fresh air generating station which will be installed as part of a second phase under design. The system will reduce GHG emissions by 35%.
